Final Fantasy Love

As you can see I’ve always been a big fan of the Final Fantasy series.  Especially the games that were released for the Super Nintendo.  Final Fantasy IV (here II) came out in 1991 and Final Fantasy VI was in 1994. These 2 games especially FF6 have provided me hundreds of hours of entertainment!  At the time FF6 was one of the only games I had knew of that had multiple endings depending on what you did.  You weren’t forced to wait for Shadow before the World of Ruin and you didn’t have to track down the Moggles and Umaro if you didn’t want.

I have to admit I never really got into the FF games after that.  I have 7 and 8 for my computer, but my save data kept getting deleted and I got tired of starting over.

One of the most memorable things about the series is the awesome music.  The battle themed is awesome, its been essentially the same sing since the beginning and with every new release its added too and updated.

That’s where this new Final Fantasy game on the 3Ds comes in.  It’s call Theatrhythm, a mix between theater and rhythm and features over 70 songs from all the FF games.  It’s a really cool rhythm game that is tons of fun and very addictive!  With tons of unlockable characters and songs it will keep you busy for a really long time!

imagePlus the game comes with a stylus and a sheet of character stickers for you to choose from to decorate your stylus, I picked Mog :)

Just a word of warning, playing this game will give you the urge to go back and play some of your favorite Final Fantasy games again, I popped in Final Fantasy VI for my GBA.

I think it’s actually called that because it stands for “The Active Time Rhythm”, like the active time battle system in some FF games.

  3. Wow finally something Final Fantasy like for my 3DS! I’m picking it up for sure! thanks!!! Another great post! I’m a huge FF fan myself! ^_^

  4. Only the true collectors have FF: MQ! Awesome stuff and I’ll never forget being a kid and having the chicken pox one summer. Bummed out of my skull and unable to go outside, my parents suprised me with Final Fantasy I and was hooked ever since. Even mentioned in a FB Q&A I did recently the most expensive game I ever bought was FFVI the day it came out for $79.99 and still feel it was worth every penny. Now, I never rename the character but back then I did and I was Locke and Celes was named Angela, the girl I was dating who became the mother of my children and remains my wife to this day! Even now, we speak of the opera scene as the greatest personal moment in gaming for us because of its revelvance while we dated. Ironic thing was I had zero clue Locke and Celes would even become an item i nthe game so it was pure luck! I can only imagine how different it would’ve been with her watching me play through that with anyone else as Celes. Uncomfortable I’m guessing. Anyway, I’m ranting, amazing collection!

  5. God I wish! Sadly, that game was taken hostage without ransom in the “Great Burglary Of 2001″ never to be seen again. =( Terra was beyond awesome and I’ve never felt she just her due. One of the most amazingly fleshed out stories for a character over the course of a single game in history but her hair wasn’t spiky enough and her sword not large enough to resonate with the masses, sadly. My friends in high school were experimenting with differing ways to stay up all night but for me, the scene where she first goes Esper and flies off was better than any drug anyone could’ve offered me! I think my longest stint on that game was around 12 straight hours trying to get all of Gau’s techniques once. THAT was a long next day at school.

  6. never felt she got her just due* ugh! if I proofed when I was on others sites half as much as I did my own…it’s early and no coffee yet, my excuse and I’m sticking to it :D

  7. awesome collection here, huge fan of FF as well, 9 and 7 rank in my top 5 games of all time because there that immense.
